Food safety inspection: 48 establishments shut down, notices issued to 142 establishments, inspection will continue, says Minister Veena George

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Veena George said that the Food Safety Department inspected 547 establishments across the state on Wednesday. 48 establishments, including 18 establishments that functioned in unsanitary conditions and 30 establishments without licenses, were shut down. Notices were issued to 142 institutions. The minister stated that thorough inspections will continue throughout the state.

"The Department of Food Safety is doing great work to ensure food safety in the state. Operation Shawarma, Operation Matsya, Operation Jaggery, Operation Oil, Operation Holiday etc. were devised and implemented as part of the 'Nalla Bhakshanamm Naadinte Avakasham'campaign," the minister said.
