Bomb hurled at police in Trivandrum, incident when police came to arrest brothers who kidnapped a teenager

TRIVANDRUM: The Kaniyapuram police whiskered away from death after a bomb was hurled at them by assailants in Trivandrum. The incident happened when the police came to arrest brothers Shafeeq and Shameer, who were accused of kidnapping a teenager for ransom. Police arrived late at Shafeeq's house in Andoorkonam, but the brothers were in no mood to surrender. Apart from the bomb, an axe was also aimed at the forces. Shameer and his mother are currently in custody, while Shafeeq is at large after escaping from the police. While in custody, the drama continued after Shameer tried committing suicide by cutting off his neck with a pocket blade. He has been shifted to the hospital.
