KOCHI: PV Anvar MLA did not bother to respond to the media after being interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the complaint related to money transactions in the quarry business. The MLA's position was that he was not interested in responding to the questions. The MLA, who got angry with the media, sneered that the ED had summoned him to inquire about the India-Pakistan cricket match.
The ED summoned PV Anvar to its office in Kochi and interrogated him on the allegations related to the quarry industry 10 years ago. It was alleged that PV Anvar had extorted Rs 50 lakhs from NRI engineer Naduthodi Salim by offering a 10 percent share in the crusher and half a lakh monthly profit in connection with the crusher deal in Belthangady taluk of Mangalore, Karnataka. The Crime Branch had earlier investigated the case and submitted a report against the MLA.
