Special Branch officer receives death threat from suspended ASI

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It has been alleged that an ASI, who is on suspension, has issued a death threat against a Special Branch officer. It was Mangalapuram ASI Jayan, who was suspended from service the other day, who issued a death threat against Special Branch officer Sajid. Jayan issued the death threat against the officer by alleging that he was suspended based on the report submitted by the Special Branch. Sources said that Jayan also used foul language against Sajid on the phone.

The Special Branch officer later lodged a complaint with the Kazhakkoottam police in this regard. Earlier, 31 policemen of Mangalapuram station had faced disciplinary action in the name of their alleged link with gangsters. While SHO Sajesh was suspended earlier, the rest of the policemen were slapped with transfer orders.
