THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Many KSRTC buses are stationed at depots and are barely used in months. Now, considering the situation, the Operation executive director has ordered Zonal heads to ensure that all such buses get back on road. Before covid, KSRTC managed 5700 services easily which has now gone south to 4400 services, putting the public in a fuss.

Buses kept idle at depots are fit to ride but the dearth of staff and drivers are a concern for the department. Now, the zonal heads are readying moves to assign drivers and staff on lease. Meanwhile, KSRTC is abiding by the green initiatives by changing the hitherto diesel engines to CNG. The central government on its part has allotted 1000 new e-bus to Kerala.
