THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram corporation involved subsidy scam will be investigated by the vigilance department. The corporation announced a scheme of providing three lakh subsidy money to unemployed women to do startups. But the CIG general report said that behind the veneer of this scheme, at least 5.6 crores were siphoned by employees and other officials within the corporation. More shocking findings came with the state performance audit officers' report. The report from the state performance audit officer will reach the government this week. The explanation for the corporation to the audit officers is not deemed satisfactory. These findings might have given the green signal for vigilance investigation, many assume.
