WCC lauds jury for not awarding serials and government for approving that decision

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: When the state television awards were announced this time, the jury decided not to give the award to the best serial. This is due to the finding that women and children are badly portrayed in serials. The decision was welcomed and criticized by many. The WCC, an organization of women film workers, has also responded to the issue.

In their response through a Facebook post, the WCC said the jury's decision to reject the best serial awards was historic. "We uphold that courageous decision and welcome it into our hearts", the Facebook post reads.
