UDAIPUR: Many choose corporate jobs for a good salary and a better standard of living. The story of a 27-year-old youth who quit his corporate job is now going viral on social media. He left his corporate job of seven years and goes to his hometown Udaipur in Rajasthan. He then started a homestay there. He himself shared his own experience.
'I first left my corporate job, reached my village and then started a homestay. Initially, it was very difficult and did not get a good income. Later learnt more about business. There are homestays in most tourist cities now. On average, I earn about Rs 1 lakh per month. This can go down to Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000, but during peak tourist seasons, it can go up to Rs 3 to 4 lakh. I started the venture in a single room. It cost me Rs 2 to Rs 4 lakh in the beginning. Now, there are no extra expenses. This brought many changes in my life too. There are no busy days. Need not work for so long,’ he added.
