NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that India will never bow to any form of terror and that the heinous designs of terrorists will never succeed. The announcement was made in a post shared on X, where he paid tribute to the martyrs on the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack.
"As a nation, we stand united in grief and resolve. Remembering the innocent lives lost in the gruesome Pahalgam terror attack on this day last year; they will never be forgotten. My thoughts are also with the bereaved families as they cope with this loss," he said.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid their tributes. The memorial erected in Pahalgam to honour the martyrs was thronged with visitors today. The monument features a marble plaque engraved with the names of the 26 martyrs, positioned beneath two national flags. Various organisations led mourning ceremonies, and tourists visiting Jammu and Kashmir also joined in paying their respects.
