Youth hacks 27-year-old live-in partner to death

RANNI: A woman, who was living with a KAAPA case accused, has been hacked to death. The dead is Rejithamol (27), daughter of V A Raju of Cherukol Keekozhur Pullikattilpadi near Malarvadi Junction. Raju (60), his wife Geetha (51) and youngest daughter Appu (18) sustained hack injuries. The youth has been identified as Athul Sathyan of Ranni.

The incident happened at 8.30 pm last night. Rejitha reached her own home after a fight with Athul. He entered the house with a knife and hacked her to death. The others sustained injuries when they tried to stop him from attacking them. Though all were taken to Ranni Taluk Hospital, the life of Rejitha could not be saved.

A week ago, Athul had taken Rejitha to a rubber plantation in Pathanapuram and threatened her after keeping a knife on her neck. He had shown the video of it to her mother. The doctors said that Raju needs an emergency operation. The injuries of others are not serious. Athul is an accused in several cases. Police have intensified search for him.
