Debt-ridden bakery owner commits suicide in Idukki

IDUKKI: An owner of a bakery ended his life in Adimali. 52-year-old Vinod, a native of Irumpupalam, committed suicide by hanging. He was found hanging inside the bakery Monday early morning. Police said he took the drastic step due to financial liability.

He is likely to have hanged after opening the shop in the morning. His family members said that Vinod had borrowed money from some companies for business purposes and was having difficulty in repaying the loan after the lockdown was announced. Police reached the spot and started the proceedings.
