THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Widespread rains are likely to lash the state today. Rain is expected as the cyclone continues to influence Rayalaseema in Andhra Pradesh. Central and North Kerala are likely to receive more rainfall. Isolated places are likely to get heavy rains. Yellow alert has been declared in eight districts.
Yellow alert has been sounded from Alappuzha to Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur districts. Strong rains have been lashing in some parts of the capital city. The Met Office said the rainfall is expected to ease by today. The chance of thunderstorms is also high between 2 pm to 10 pm.
