KOZHIKODE: The DYFI activists, who were accused of attacking a security guard at the Kozhikode medical college, have surrendered. Six accused, including DYFI leader Arun, surrendered at Nadakavu police station. They surrendered on the basis of legal advice that there is little chance of getting anticipatory bail.
Meanwhile, the victims have approached the High Court stating that the current investigation is not satisfactory. The petition seeks an investigation by some other agency. The complainants, who raised sharp criticism against the police, accused the police of cooperating with the accused.
DYFI activists assaulted the security guard of the medical college on August 31. The DYFI activists allegedly attacked the security guard following a dispute over not allowing a couple to visit the superintendent.
