Rs 46.24 lakh for Lamborghini; Rs 31 lakh spent for Porsche; huge income for government coffers

The auction is held if there is more than one buyer for the same number. The auctions are from 4 pm on Saturday to 10.30 pm on Monday. The auction amount can be set in multiples of Rs 1000. Those who pay more will get the vehicle number. The fancy number obsession is high for film actors and industrialists. The Ernakulam RT office, which auctions the most fancy numbers, also has the credit for receiving the largest amount in a single auction. Last April, a Lamborghini worth Rs 4.66 crore was auctioned for Rs 46.24 lakh. The record of Rs 31 lakh spent for the number of a Porsche vehicle from Thiruvananthapuram in 2019 was broken. The least number of auctions was held during the COVID period.
