Make preparations for 'Malinya Muktham Nava Keralam': Chief Minister instructs District Collectors

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Chief Minister instructed the District Collectors to make preparations for the 'Malinya Muktham Nava Keralam' campaign announced by the government from October 2 to March 30, 2025.

Committees from ward to district level should be formed by the local bodies on time. The proposed action should be ensured on time. A meeting should be held in the presence of district in-charge ministers and the details should be prepared. Preventive efforts should be strengthened. Medicines should be ensured in hospitals.

In the wake of the warning that the rains will intensify, disaster prevention should be made effective. Actions in the Orange Book should be taken. Performance so far should also be evaluated. As part of the plan to completely eradicate extreme poverty by November 1, 2025, the targets set by November 1 this year must be met. Any deficiency should be reviewed and resolved. As part of the 'Avakasham Athivegam' scheme, the shortcomings of the scheme of issuing various cards to the very poor should also be addressed.

Plan to acquire land should be implemented

Project should be implemented by talking to the objectors with the help of people's representatives in the areas where land acquisition for Coastal-Hill Highway is obstructed. The order to give priority for land conversion for those in the LIFE Mission list should be followed. People should be informed that there is an exemption available for building houses on land up to 1291 sq feet which is not in the data bank.

Applications should be considered and disposed of promptly. Ministers K Rajan, Veena George, Chief Secretary Dr V Venu, Additional Chief Secretary Sharada Muralidharan, Disaster Management Authority Member Secretary Shekhar Kuriakos and others participated in the meeting.
