PALAKKAD: After fifteen days of hiding, Rahul Mamkootathil MLA arrived to vote. He reached his booth at St Sebastian's School in Kunnathurmedu South, Palakkad, in his official car at around 4.50 pm. There were reports yesterday that Rahul would come to vote as his arrest in the first rape case was stayed and he had been granted anticipatory bail in the second case. He arrived with only an hour left for the polling to end and he feared that if he comes in the morning it would affect the elections.

CPM and BJP workers booed at him. They lifted atop pictures of a rooster and a cradle. However, Congress workers welcomed Rahul with bouquets. Rahul did not respond to any significant comments about the cases against him. Rahul only said that the case is before the court, the court will decide and that the truth will prevail. Rahul, who said that he will tell everything before the court, clarified that he will continue in Palakkad. He will not abscond and there is no dispute in that.
