THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In view of the continuing heavy rainfall, authorities have declared a holiday for educational institutions in Kasaragod, Wayanad and Thrissur districts on Monday, June 16. The move comes as a precaution, following weather alerts issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Kasaragod and Wayanad are on red alert tomorrow, while Thrissur is on orange alert.
“In light of the India Meteorological Department’s warning of extremely heavy rainfall tomorrow, a red alert has been issued in the district. This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure prioritizing public safety. Accordingly, all educational institutions in the district, including colleges, professional colleges, Kendriya Vidyalayas, tuition centres, madrasas, anganwadis, and special classes, will remain closed on Monday.” said the Kasaragod District Collector.
