Scooterist sustains serious injuries after being trampled by wild elephant in Palode, fractures ribs

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A scooterist sustained serious injuries after being trampled by a wild elephant in Palode. Jitendran of Idinjar in Palode, was injured in the attack by the elephant. The incident happened Sunday morning at around 6.45 am. The elephant attacked him while he was going for work.

The attack was when the locals were complaining about widespread destruction of crops in the area by elephant. The locals said that this is the first time an elephant attack is reported in the area. The youth, who fell on the ground in the attack, has fractured his ribs. Jitendran, who was first taken to the Palode Primary Health Center, was later admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
