Wild elephant attacks hotel in Athirappilly; locals in grip of fear

THRISSUR: A hotel in Athirappilly was attacked by a wild elephant. The elephant attacked the hotel of Kaliyadan Johnson near the Pillappara excise check post. The elephant entered inside after breaking open the front door of the hotel.

The incident happened last night. Johnson and his family live adjacent to the hotel. Hearing the noise, Johnson's wife and daughter woke up and then saw the elephant. The locals then made noise and chased the elephant away. The locals are in the grip of fear after the wild elephant entered the residential area.
