MALAPPURAM: Muslim League state president Panakkad Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal said the Congress has the right to decide on the new chief minister of the UDF government in Kerala. In an interview given to a media, he clarified the stand of the League, a strong ally of the UDF.
'The congress will decide the chief minister. However, expected that there will be discussions with the League on this issue. There is no need to worry that there will be disputes in the UDF and it would be a challenge to the people. The League has not demanded the post of deputy chief minister. Such discussions are taking place on social media. A decision will be taken on ministerial posts after consulting with the Congress. Only those who are qualified will be given ministerial posts in the League.
As opposition leader, V D Satheesan's work was excellent. He is able to take up popular issues with precise reasons. The victory of Fathima Thahiliya is a reply to those who criticized the League for fielding women candidates. The people have proven that such criticisms are irrelevant. The UDF will step forward unitedly and not for unnecessary controversies,’ added Thangal.
