THRISSUR: Union Minister Suresh Gopi, who came to attend a Sivaratri function, returned in an auto after his official vehicle failed to arrive on time. He went in an auto along with his gunman. The incident happened during the Sivaratri Mahaparikrama Yatra.

The vehicle was parked near the Vadakkunnathan Temple. Suresh Gopi wanted to return quickly after the function, but his official vehicle failed to arrive on time. He then called an auto from the auto stand and returned to Rama Nilayam.

As soon as Suresh Gopi got into the auto, his gunman immediately sat in front with the auto driver. The union minister's official vehicle arrived within a few minutes of the auto leaving. Investigations are underway to determine whether there was any security lapse in the incident.
