‘Does KPCC agree with the views of plenary session regarding Nehru’s vision and governor post?’, asks MV Govindan

KOZHIKODE: CPM state secretary MV Govindan has demanded in a press conference that K Sudhakaran and KPCC should clarify whether they agree with the political resolution of the Congress plenary meeting. The resolution called upon party activists to stand for secularism, federalism and socialism envisioned by Nehru.

“Is Sudhakaran who criticized Nehru as a person who even made peace with the RSS, ready to accept the policy of the national leadership? Does the KPCC agree with the political resolution of the Congress which says that the position of governor has become a mockery and that the governors who abuse the position should be held accountable? It should also be explained whether the provision of not using alcohol was waived in the party administration to encourage drinking.”, asked Govindan.

“If there are wrong tendencies in the CPM, we will move forward by effectively correcting them. Party system upholding communist values will be strengthened. EP Jayarajan can participate in the rally at any place. Jayarajan is not a member of the rally. Only the members will speak.”, he added.

The leader said no political party should wrest control over the temple management and on a sly note also said it is applicable to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who acts like the whole onus of temples falls on his party's shoulder.

“BJP is trying hard to adorn saffron to countries elite new agencies. The Perambra incident of using a school bus in the CPM rally will be investigated. E P Jayarajan is a leader who doesn't need an invite from anyone to participate in the CPM rally” Govindan told the media.

He also responded to the P K Sashi conundrum in Palakkad about the leader acquiring illegal assets with party funds. Govindan repeated his earlier remark of taking out the weeds that have tangled within the party but refrained from directly quoting P K Sashi. He said just one flat in the LIFE mission scheme is under the radar of investigating agencies. The corrupt should be arrested but it is not ideal for the media houses to drag down the whole party to a few people's misdeeds, concluded Govindan.
