Hacks parents to death in Thiruvalla, son in custody

PATHANAMTHITTA: In a shocking incident, a son hacked his parents to death. The incident happened at Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta. Krishnan Kutty (78) of Asariparambil near Parumala Kirshnavilasam School and his wife Sarada (68) are the two hacked to death. The police concluded that a family dispute was behind the murder.

The incident happened Thursday morning at 8 am. The two died on the spot itself. Police said the couple’s son Kochumon alias Anil Kumar (50) killed the two using a knife. After hacking his parents, he created a tense situation in the area. Later more police from Pulikeezhu reached the place and took him into custody.

Unconfirmed reports said the accused is mentally ill. A team including Thiruvalla DySP is conducting a scientific inspection at their house. The police said that they are investigating the cause of the murder.
