BENGALURU: An IT professional was arrested in Bengaluru for sexually assaulting ladies after befriending them through social media. 28-year-old Dileep Prasad was arrested by Bengaluru police after it was reported that the young man assaulted more than 13 girls from the city. Dileep met the victims through social media and inveigled them into copulation after a promise of lucrative jobs in the IT sector. The victims were mostly young unemployed women irresistible to make an entry into the IT sector. Dileep faked the name Monica on social media and befriended the victims. Later the job aspirants were asked to meet at a hotel where the victims suffered the trauma of sexual assault.
No complaints surfaced even after the gore crime, as Dileep threatened to share the images and videos with the ladies should they try to inform the crime. The police have admitted that Dileep trapped the girls just to meet his sexual cravings. The case was registered after one of the victims showed nerves to approach cyber police in January.
