Patients can now take appointments from home without waiting in queue; E-health system set up in 509 hospitals

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Veena George has announced that e-health system has been set up in 509 hospitals of the state. E-health system was set up in 283 hospitals during this government. Apart from medical colleges and affiliated hospitals, E-health has been implemented in 16 district and general hospitals, 73 taluk hospitals, 25 community health centres, 380 primary health/family health centres and one public health lab. The minister said that the goal is to introduce E-health system in all government hospitals of the state in a phased manner.

All health services can be done online under one roof through e-health system. Through this scheme, OP ticket and hospital appointment can also be taken from home. So far, 3.04 crore registrations have been done through E-health. 32.40 lakh (10.64 per cent) permanent UHID registrations and 2.72 crore (89.36 per cent) temporary registrations. About 1 lakh people have taken advanced appointment through online.

A lot of work is being done to achieve 'Digital Health' in a timely manner. Online OP ticket and paperless hospital services have become a reality by setting up E-health system in hospitals. Lab results can be received through SMS. Shaili app is designed diagnosis of lifestyle diseases. Through this, more than 73 lakh people above 30 years of age were screened at home. Cancer Grid and Cancer Care Suite were implemented to diagnose cancer and coordinate cancer treatment. An extensive e Sanjeevani service was prepared. Directorate of Health Department has been made an e-office. E-office is being implemented in district medical offices. Punching has started in the health department.

How to generate Unique Health ID?

To get services through e-health, first you need to create an identification number. For that you have to go to the portal https://ehealth.kerala.gov.in and click on the register link. Enter the Aadhaar number in it. Then the OTP will be received on the registered Aadhaar number. Online Personal Health Identification Number will be available while providing this OTP. This 16-digit personal health identification number and password will be received as a message on the mobile phone when logging in for the first time. With this identification number and password, it is possible to make appointment to the hospitals on the specified date and time.

How to take an appointment?

After logging into the portal using the ID number and password provided to an individual, click on New Appointment. If it is a referral, after recording that information, select the hospital information and department. Then when you select the appointment date, the tokens for that day will be displayed. Patients can take the token as per their convenience. Then the token print can also be taken. Token information via SMS is also available. Then it can be shown in the hospital.
