NEW DELHI: D K Shivakumar snubbed the media after the high command confirmed Siddaramaiah as the next chief minister of Karnataka. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge earlier called for a high-profile meeting including top leaders to script an end to the Karnataka war for the CM seat. The Congress leadership has decided on a split in CM seat on a term basis. Siddaramaiah will have the power for two years from now, while D K Shivakumar will be made the CM during the last three years. D K was dismayed with the proposals while the congress leadership still looks to pacify the leader with more meetings on proposals.
The majority of MLAs allied with Siddaramaiah while the leaders including Rahul Gandhi favored ‘Siddu’ minding the array of cases including corruption and ED charges against D K Shivakumar.
Shivakumar has been offered the home portfolio and the deputy CM post. However, the leader is not ready to abide by the terms of the Congress and is still residing in Delhi expecting a change of events.
