State boiling in heat; temperature may rise up to 37 degrees Celsius, yellow alert in six districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Scorching heat continues unabated in the state. A yellow alert has been announced in six districts due to rising heat. Yellow alert is declared in Kozhikode, Kannur, Palakkad, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Thrissur districts. Meteorological Department updated that hot and unsettled weather is likely in these districts apart from the hilly areas.

Temperatures are predicted to rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius above normal. According to the Central Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature may rise up to 37 degree Celsius in Kozhikode district, 36 degree Celsius in Kannur and Palakkad districts and 35 degree Celsius in Alappuzha, Kottayam and Thrissur districts.
