Cop’s car hits biker, flees without stopping, youth sustains serious injuries

KOCHI: A speeding car in which a police officer was travelling hit a biker. The car sped away without even looking back at the seriously injured biker and stopped in a deserted area two kilometres away. When two on a bike informed the people in the car about the accident, they shouted at them. Vimal, a native of Chullikkal, sustained injuries in the accident. The youth, who was bleeding profusely and lying on the road was taken to the hospital by the locals.

The car hit the bike at the Ernakulam Harbour Bridge last night. Vimal has injuries all over his body. He did not lose his life due to luck. It is also suspected whether those in the car were drunk. Some of the locals said there was also a woman in the car. Though Vimal lodged a complaint at the Thoppumpadi police, no action was taken. The front portion of the car and the bike were damaged in the accident.
