AMRITSAR: The Border Security Force (BSF) shot down a Pakistani drone carrying narcotics near the international border near Amritsar in Punjab. The drone was shot down at Dhanoe Kalan village in Amritsar around 8.48 pm on Saturday.
Following a search conducted, three drug packets attached to the drone were recovered from the farm in the area. The packets had four special strips for easy identification, said BSF. 'The total weight of the recovered heroin stock is 3.3 kg. Another malicious attempt by Pakistan was thwarted by the alert BSF troops', said the BSF in a press release.
The army is continuing search in the area. This is the fourth drone shot down in two days. Drones are widely used by Pakistan to smuggle drugs and weapons into India. Pakistani terrorists started relying on drones after the army stopped them from infiltrating across the border. There are strict restrictions on the use of drones in Jammu and Kashmir.
