TIRUR: The accused in the case of the honeytrap murder of hotel owner Siddique are remanded to police custody for five days. The investigation team reached Cheruthuruthi where Siddique's car was left after the murder and took evidence. Today, they will reach the lodge in Kozhikode where the murder took place. Adv. BR Aloor appeared in Tirur court for the accused.
Aloor told the media that he appeared for Farhana and her boyfriend Shibili as per the request of Farhana's parents. The magistrate rejected Aloor's contention that the accused should not be remanded in custody for five days to collect evidence at various places. Aloor said that the Tirur police have no authority to investigate the case and the Tirur court has no right to release the accused in custody and that he will approach the High Court against this. He said that the case should be held in the court at the place where the murder took place or where the evidence was destroyed.
