Narendra Modi tops world leaders in YouTube subscribers with 20 million followers

NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi achieved a milestone by becoming the most followed world leader on YouTube. His personal channel recently crossed the 20 million subscriber mark. The channel established in 2007 during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat has attracted over 450 million viewers worldwide.

Modi's significant presence on YouTube surpasses other global leaders. Former Brazilian President Bolsonaro trails behind with 6.4 million subscribers while Rahul Gandhi boasts more than 3.5 million subscribers on his channel.
Additionally, a channel associated with Prime Minister Modi, named 'Yoga with Modi' has garnered over 73,000 subscribers showcasing his diverse engagement on the platform.

Notably, Modi's use of social media in politics has set a precedent, demonstrating its effectiveness in reaching millions globally. Among other prominent leaders, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky holds third place with 11 million subscribers and an impressive viewership of 224 million on his channel. In comparison, US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron hold fourth and fifth positions respectively with significantly fewer subscribers.
