Two people including boy gored to death by bulls during Jallikattu event in Sivagangai

MADURAI: Two people, including a child, were gored to death by bulls after the bulls ran into the crowd during a Jallikattu event in Sivagangai district in Tamil Nadu. 70 people were injured. The deceased are Valayampatti native Ravi (11) and a 35-year-old man.

In another incident, 84 people, including women guards, were injured after being attacked by bulls during the Jallikattu event held in Alanganallur in Madurai.

According to sources, the bulls ran into the crowd during the Jallikattu. 186 bulls were brought for Jallikattu in Sivagangai. In Madurai, 13 seriously injured people were admitted to Rajaji Medical College Hospital for specialist treatment. 500 people had competed in the Jallikattu event in Madurai.

It is said that the accident was caused by the violation of the Supreme Court's order to install heavy security, including double barricades, at the Jallikattu venue. Two people had died during the Jallikattu at Palamedu on Monday.
