14 students and two teachers die after boat capsizes in Gujarat; accident happened while group was on an excursion

VADODARA: 14 students and two teachers died after a boat capsized in the Harni Lake in Vadodara, Gujarat. Several people have gone missing. The boat was carrying a group of 27 members from the New Sun Rise school.

The accident took place while the group was on an excursion. The authorities said that the search is continuing. Disaster Relief Force has arrived on the spot. Some of the students who were rescued have been admitted to the hospital. According to sources, the students were not wearing life jackets. The Fire Force said that the seven children were rescued.

According to the officials, the locals started rescue operations soon after the accident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed grief over the incident.
