THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance Minister K N Balagopal began the presentation of the state budget for the financial year 2024-25. Presenting the budget, the finance minister said there is sunrise economy in the state. Progress is there which disappoints the anti-Kerala critics. It is the sunrise of hope in Kerala. The minister added that Kerala is progressing in terms of per capita income.
‘Different models will be implemented in the state. An investment of Rs 3 lakh crore is aimed in the next three years. Kerala will be turned into a medical hub. Concerns over the weakness of the state's economy continue. The Centre is pushing Kerala into economic sanctions. The centre has a hostile attitude towards the state,’ said the finance minister in his budget speech.
The finance minister stated that will go ahead with the Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode metro projects. Centre’s approval is expected for Thiruvananthapuram metro. The Centre is neglecting Kerala's rail development. The finance minister added that the passengers are suffering.
