DOHA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Qatar and held a meeting with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Qatar gave Modi a ceremonial welcome. This is Modi's second visit to Qatar after assuming the post of Prime Minister in 2014.
Had a wonderful meeting with HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad. We reviewed the full range of India-Qatar relations and discussed ways to deepen cooperation across various sectors. Our nations also look forward to collaborating in futuristic sectors which will benefit our planet.' - Modi wrote on X after the meeting.
Issues to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries will be discussed. It also marks the first visit after Qatar released eight Indian ex-marines sentenced to death. Modi arrived in Qatar after a two-day visit to the UAE. Modi had also attended the inauguration ceremony of BAPS, the first temple in the UAE.
