bjp-

NEW DELHI: Senior BJP leaders said that sitting MPs and MLAs from opposition parties like Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will join the BJP from the 20th of this month. Party sources informed that party leaders will continue joining BJP till February 29. They also stated that the winners of the recent elections will also be in this group.

This information emerged amid speculations that Congress leader Kamal Nath and his son Nakul would join the BJP. Kamal Nath did not give a clear answer to the questions of the media. He said, "If there is anything like that I would let you know". Sources in the BJP also said that a Congress leader who was a Union Minister has expressed interest in joining the BJP. Rumours are rife that BSP's Lalganj MP Sangeeta Azad and Ambedkar Nagar MP Ritesh Pandey will join the BJP. Azad hails from a family with founding members of the BSP.

Former Congress Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan had earlier joined the BJP. BJP has nominated him for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. The information was released after BJP's two-day national conclave ended today with the official slogan of 'Phir Ek Bar, Modi Sarkar' targeting 370 seats.
