CHANGANASSERY: NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair said that actor and BJP leader Suresh Gopi had some objectives in his mind when he came to the NSS budget meeting hall during the time of Aruvikkara by-elections. Sukumaran Nair said this during an interview given to a private channel. According to Sukumaran Nair, by entering the meeting hall of the NSS headquarters, Suresh Gopi tried to show that he was so close to the NSS that he could even enter the place of the meeting. Sukumaran Nair also said that it was the BJP that made Suresh Gopi apologise for this.
In 2015, Suresh Gopi was shooed away from the NSS headquarters when he tried to meet Sukumaran Nair. Suresh Gopi had come to offer flowers at Mannam Samadhi at the NSS headquarters in Perunna. After offering flowers, the actor-turned-politician tried to meet Sukumaran Nair. However, Sukumaran Nair refused to talk to him.
Meanwhile, the 54th death anniversary of social reformer Mannathu Padmanabhan will be observed across the state tomorrow. The offering of flowers, fasting and community prayers will be held at Mannam Samadhi from six in the morning. General Secretary G. Sukumaran Nair will preside over the functions at Mannam Samadhi.
