NEW DELHI: Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra has filed a complaint with the Election Commission demanding that the CBI stop playing politics in the name of the investigation. The CBI raided Mahua's residence in Kolkata, her apartment in Krishnanagar and another apartment where her father lives, alleging that she took bribes to raise questions in the Lok Sabha. Mahua's residence was searched when she was a candidate in Krishnanagar.

Last day, the Lokpal directed the CBI to investigate the corruption case. Mahua asked the commission to have guidelines for the actions of central agencies during elections. According to the complaint, central agencies should be instructed not to accept drastic measures that hamper the campaigning of candidates. CBI works on the basis of political directives. Mahua also alleged that illegal and improper moves are being made.

The CBI has registered a case against Mahua in connection with the allegation of taking bribes for raising questions. A case was registered against Mahua after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in the liquor policy corruption case. Earlier, Mahua was expelled from the Lok Sabha following the report of the Parliamentary Ethics Committee on this allegation.
