KOLLAM: M Mukesh, the LDF candidate in Kollam, has assets worth Rs 14,98,08,376. This is according to affifdavit submitted to the Election Commission along with his nomination papers. In the affidavit given for the Assembly elections in 2021, assets worth Rs 10.22 crore were mentioned.
According to the affidavit, he has Rs 50,000 in hand and Rs 10.48 crores including fixed deposits and shares in various banks and sub-treasury in Thiruvananthapuram. The market value of 230 cents worth of land and two flats in Chennai, including the house in Pattathanam where he currently resides, is estimated at 4.49 crores. The flat in T-Nagar, Chennai is co-owned by him and his first wife Saritha. There is a 13-cent property in the name of Mukesh and Methil Devika in Kadakampally village in Thiruvananthapuram. The 37-cent property in Kanayannur, Ernakulam was bought together with Sreenivasan. He also owns land in Mahabalipuram, Thonnakkal, Shakthikulangara and Pothencode. The affidavit also states that the present house was acquired as ancestral property.
It is also stated in the affidavit that he is accused in a case registered by Punalur police in 2014 related to obstruction of public road in Punalur.
