KASARAGOD: Kasaragod Vigilance DySP V Unnikrishnan and his team nabbed Adhur village field assistant who took a bribe of Rs 20,000. K Narayanan (47), a native of Karaduka's Karmamthodi, has been arrested on the complaint of P. Rameshan of Alanthadukka House in Adhur.
54 cents of land containing Rameshan's family house and temple, which was given as birth tenancy at Pandivayal in Adhur village, didn't have a title deed. On September 16, 2023, Rameshan and his mother's maternal aunt's daughter, Janaki, filed an application in the Kasaragod Land Tribunal to get the title deed. The application was sent to the village office for site inspection. Village Field Assistant Narayanan demanded a bribe of Rs 20000 to inspect the site and give a proposal. Meanwhile, the village officer was transferred to the taluk election cell. Narayanan told Rameshan that he can do the needful by seeing the former village officer and asked him to reach the taluk office with the money. According to this, Narayanan reached the land tribunal office in the collectorate in his car along with Rameshan who had reached the taluk office yesterday. After taking the bribe and dropping off Ramesan, a team led by Vigilance DySP, who was waiting in front of the taluk office, stopped the vehicle and arrested Narayanan.
