KOCHI: The Enforcement Directorate has moved court against the single bench order to not trouble Pathanamthitta LDF candidate and former minister Thomas Isaac during election time.

The ED has approached the division bench with a demand to quash the interim order of the single bench. The appeal will be heard by the court on Friday. The court had said that there is no need to question Isaac, who is a candidate in the Lok Sabha elections.

The ED had earlier filed some documents in the High Court clarifying the need for questioning Thomas Isaac in the KIIFB Masala bond case. After perusing these documents, the court observed that Isaac's explanation was required for clarification on certain transactions.

The ED can decide whether to summon Isaac for clarification or whether a written statement is sufficient. The ED told the court that Isaac need not be interrogated now as the elections are around the corner and that he should inform a date for appearance.
