NEW DELHI: Central Election Commission has written to BJP and Congress. In a letter sent to the presidents of both parties, the commission has clarified that their 'star campaigners' should be moderate while raising allegations in the Lok Sabha election campaign speeches.

The Election Commission has sent a letter to the presidents of both the parties after the Congress and the BJP filed complaints against the speeches of Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi. The Election Commission has given specially prepared instructions to Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and BJP National President JP Nadda in this regard.

The Election Commission has clarified that things cannot be allowed to the extent that the socio-cultural background of the country will be harmed in the name of elections. The commission also reminded them that apart from competing against each other, it is also an opportunity to tell them what you have done for the country.

Elections are intermittent events, but your parties are not. They last forever. Political parties play no small role in preserving the social and cultural heritage of the country. Political parties also play a major role in providing leaders capable of leading the country forward in the future. The Election Commission also pointed out that it is the responsibility of the senior leaders to inculcate discipline and mutual respect in the budding leaders.
