Monthly pay off case: HC issues notice to CM and daughter on Mathew Kuzhalnadan’s plea

cm

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court issued a notice to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter Veena Vijayan in the CMRL-Exalogic monthly pay off case. Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA had earlier filed a plea in the high court in connection with the case. Notices were issued to the opposing parties including the chief minister.

It is reported that this is a normal procedure. Notices are issued to give an opportunity to the opposing parties to explain the matter once the plea comes before the court for consideration. The court will now hear what the chief minister and his daughter have to say. A final verdict will be pronounced on the matter after that.

Mathew Kuzhalnadan responded that it was a natural procedure. ‘This is a natural process. The plea was filed citing legal errors in the judgment of the lower court. What I have said and submitted to the court is to the best of my knowledge. I have self-confidence. Waiting for further action,' Kuzhalnadan told a media.

Mathew Kuzhalnadan's allegation was that the chief minister had gone out of the way to help CMRL company. Kuzhalnadan’s plea submitted in the vigilance court in connection with the case was rejected. The plea was dismissed after observing that the case was politically motivated. However, Mathew Kuzhalnadan criticized that it was immature to dismiss the plea without hearing the case against the political leaders.
