Rain predicted in five districts in coming hours, Kallakadal phenomenon likely

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rain has been predicted at isolated places in the state today. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kannur and Kasaragod in the next three hours.

There is a possibility of Kallakadal phenomenon on the coast of Kerala. There is a warning of high and fast waves. A low-pressure area is present from Kerala coast to Maharashtra coast. There is also a cyclonic circulation over North Gujarat. Rain continues as a result of this effect.

There is a possibility of waterlogging on major roads/blurred visibility in vehicles and traffic jams.

Chance of waterlogging/flooding in low lying areas and river banks.

Falling trees can lead to power outages/accidents.

Partial damage to houses and huts is possible.
