Indian Army rescue four alive from Padavetti Kunnu in Wayanad

KALPETTA: The Indian army rescued four alive from Padavetti Kunnu in Wayanad which was badly struck in the landslides. Two males and two females were found. One of the women sustained serious injuries on her legs. The four have been airlifted to a safer place. The four found isolated at home are reportedly weak. It is believed that the four rescued are Johnny of Kanjirakkathottu, Jomol, Abraham and Christy. However, there is no official confirmation for it.

They were found isolated in the damaged house and were rescued after a lot of effort, the army informed through a press release. The army assessed that no one would be left alive anymore, but hopeful after finding the four alive.

Meantime, the death toll is rising. More bodies were found in the search conducted in Mundakkai today. More than 200 people are still missing. With the Bailey Bridge fully operational, rescue operations have also expedited. A detailed search will be conducted in each place to see if there is a pulse of life in the places including Chooralmala. The service of dogs will also be utilized.

40 teams divided into six zones are conducting searches in Mundakkai and Chooralmala regions. Rescue workers including the army are jointly searching. They will also see if anyone is trapped inside the collapsed buildings.
