NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held discussions with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman regarding the ongoing war situation in West Asia, which has been continuing for the past month. The conversation took place over the telephone, during which both leaders reviewed peace efforts in the region and the global challenges arising from the conflict.

Prime Minister Modi condemned attacks on regional energy infrastructure. Both leaders agreed on the importance of keeping maritime trade routes open to avoid disruptions in the global supply chain caused by the war. They also discussed the need to work together to prevent obstacles that could affect international trade and fuel imports.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed India’s full support for efforts to restore peace in West Asia. He also expressed gratitude to Mohammed bin Salman for his support towards the welfare of the Indian community in Saudi Arabia, Modi said in a post on X.
