THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Higher education Minister KT Jaleel has received a backlash regarding the controversy surrounding the mark moderation Adalat held at the Kerala Technical University. In a report prepared by Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, it has been mentioned that the Adalat was conducted by violating norms. The governor further went on to add that the government should not interfere in the proceedings of the varsity.
Earlier, a complaint submitted by the Save the University Campaign committee had pointed out that the minister had violated the norms by ordering for a file Adalat and recommending for the re-evaluation of answer papers of a failed student.
Following this, the governor had conducted a detailed probe on the event by collecting statements from university officials, students and complainants.
In his report, the governor clearly states that the Universities do not have any permission to conduct such adalats. The governor also criticized the government by stating that it does not have any right to interfere in the internal matters of the university.
Meanwhile, the governor has also added that he has not corrected the marks of the student considering the student's future. He also issued a warning that such practices shouldn't be repeated again.
