THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following the imposition of lockdown in the state since Friday, KSRTC will undertake more long-distance services. The decision comes to manage the huge rush which can come up following the imposition of lockdown in the state.
Sources say more rush will be witnessed in the evenings. KSRTC MD Biju Prabhakar has directed all unit officers to undertake long-distance services considering the rush of passengers.
Already three buses have been arranged for immediate evacuation from Bengaluru on the directions of the government. “If a nod is received from the Karnataka government then services will be undertaken,” Biju Prabhakar said.
KSRTC is ready to undertake services for hospital staff and Covid 19 patients. If hospital superintendents contact unit officers then additional services could be undertaken as needed. If that is not possible then hospital authorities can contact the control rooms.
