Kerala records 13,832 COVID cases on Saturday, test positivity rate at 12.72; 171 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 13,832 COVID-19 cases on Saturday. Among these, 12,986 persons developed the disease through contact, including 700 cases without an identified source of infection. 82 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 64 health workers contracted the disease on Saturday.

18,172 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,29,488 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 171 deaths due to the virus on Saturday with the toll rising to 10,975.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Thiruvananthapuram 2234, Kollam 1592, Ernakulam 1539, Malappuram 1444, Palakkad 1365, Thrissur 1319, Kozhikode 927, Alappuzha 916, Kottayam 560, Kasaragod 475, Kannur 442, Pathanamthitta 441, Idukki 312, Wayanad 266.

1,08,734 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 12.72.

At present, there are 880 hotspots in the state.
