Twin murders shock capital city, youth surrenders after killing two friends

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A youth after killing two of his friends surrendered before the police at Maranalloor. The two dead have been identified as Santhosh (41) mainly known as Chappathi Santhosh of Maranalloor Moolakkonam Ilamplavila House and Sajeesh alias Pakru (38) of Malavila Thadatharikath House. Santhosh’s relative Arun Raj aged 30 alias Prakash, a plumber, committed the two crimes. He surrendered before the police Sunday morning at 6 am. The murder was committed at Santhosh’s house. Santhosh and Sajeesh were quarry workers and Arun Raj was engaged in decorative works.

Santhosh’s wife along with her two children had gone to her house the other day. The three got drunk at Santhosh’s house in the night. In the meanwhile, a dispute broke out between Santhosh and Arun Raj over work at the quarry. In a fit of rage, Santhosh took a knife and kept it over Arun Raj’s neck. Arun Raj soon took a lever lying there and hit him on his head. Sajeesh who came to stop the act was also hit. When the two fell unconscious, Arun Raj went to his own house.

When a friend informed Arun Raj about the two deaths, he said that he is going to surrender. The police are investigating whether there was anyone else behind the murders. The police have taken into custody one person who was on the spot.

Sajeesh and Arun Raj are bachelors.
